Kapitalska zadruga holds a 47.53% stake in the small private bank, but it is unclear whether Skupina Prva has an option to buy the rest from the cooperative.
Kapitalska zadruga was said to be selling nearly half of its stake in DBS to pay back a EUR 9m loan it had taken out in 2007 to take over DBS.
The newspaper Delo reported recently that the cooperative had to sell its stake by the end of March, when the loan is due.
Also on sale is 27% in DBS owned by a consortium around the financial firm KD Group, which has been trying to offload it since the spring of 2016.
According to Delo, telco Telekom Slovenije and insurer Modra Zavarovalnica have joined forces in an attempt to acquire the entire stock available.
Interest in acquiring a stake in DBS was also expressed by Serbian AIK banka, which is in the process of taking over Gorenjska banka and said to be interested in virtually all banking assets in Slovenia, Delo also reported.
DBS only controls 2% of the market, but its 81 offices make up the third largest retail banking network in the country.
