With efficient ICT solutions to success in Slovenia and across Slovenia’s borders

WE ARE ACTIVE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • representation of interests of our members vis-à-vis regulatory and government bodies, social partners and national and international organisations,
  • promotion of activities and members in Slovenia and across Slovenia’s borders,
  • expert assistance to members in the form of information dissemination, consulting and training,
  • creation of business opportunities and contacts with user companies and public administration,
  • support for international operations of member companies,
  • provision of intelligence for members,
  • promotion of information technology companies in Slovenia

 

OUR PRIORITY OBJECTIVES ARE:

  • to provide support for our members when they venture into foreign markets and later on when their foreign operations start running at full steam,
  • to provide support when establishing international links and executing projects across Slovenia’s borders,
  • to mobilise funding from various sources,
  • to put in place the environment conducive for exports of Slovenian ICT products and services,
  • to provide support for our members in effort to promote the Slovenian ICT sector as the driving power of Slovenian exports by putting domestic enterprises in touch in order to facilitate their collective appearance in foreign markets,
  • to increase exports of members by 100% over the next five-year period.

 

SECTIONS OF THE ASSOCIATION:

  • Section of export-oriented ICT companies - ZITEX
  • Section of Slovenian manufacturers of computer software KODA.SI
  • Section of Slovenian providers of internet services - SISPA
  • Section of website DIGITALEUROPE combines 40 national digital technology associations from with over 61 direct company members. Altogether it represents more than 10,000 enterprises in Europe with more than two million employees and revenues of over EUR 1,000 billion.

 

PARTICIPATION IN INTERNATIONAL AREA:

  • Association for Informatics and Telecommunications is member of the European umbrella organisation of national ICT associations and the biggest international manufacturers of ICT equipment that share common interests and objectives. The organisation recently renamed DIGITAL EUROPE is striving to improve the business environment and promote the ICT industry as a driving power of economic growth and social advancement in the European Union. Membership of the DIGITAL EUROPE are national digital technology associations from 28 European countries and the heavy-weight  ICT company members such as: Microsoft, IBM, HP, SAP, Oracle, Cisco, Apple, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Siemens, Sony, Philips, Panasonic, Hitachi, EPSON, Canon, JVC, Fujitsu, Pioneer, Samsung, Sharp…
  • Within the framework of ZIT there is the Export Groundbreaking Section of ICT companies ZITex. The section responds to the interests of Slovenian ICT companies to appear as a group of companies in foreign markets. Particular attention is paid to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The section membership has already 50 companies so far, although we are to expect much higher number of members lured to join the section.

BEST PRACTICE EXAMPLE

The Association for Informatics and Telecommunications pursues a proactive stance in the international markets through its sections ZITex.

A summary of the most important tasks successfully carried out during the past year includes the following:

  • The visit of the economic delegations of ICT companies to Romania.
  • The group participation of the Slovenian companies at the largest ICT trade fair in Middle East in Dubai - GITEX 2008.
  • The group participation in the trade fair SICUREZZA 2008 in Milan.
  • Delivery of preparatory seminars on business opportunities for the Slovenian companies in Egypt, Albania, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Turkey, Belarus and Ukraine.
  • HE Ambassador of Albania and the representative of the Embassy of Egypt paid a visit and met with our top brass.
  • We successfully organised a visit of the economic delegations to Egypt, Albania, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Turkey and Belarus and we laid grounds for establishing business contacts with potential partners holding a strong promise of successful collaboration.
  • Mr. Matinlauri, a representative of Patria, paid a visit to the Association for Informatics and Telecommunications and presented the opportunities for counter deliveries.
  • ZITex has been promoted as a contact point of the Slovenian development and export-oriented ICT companies committed to boosting competitiveness and internationalisation of the Slovenian ICT sector. A cross-section of ZITex was available to visitors at the Days of Slovenian Informatics, at the FRISK Festival for computer science and modern communications, a presentation was made for the Government Council for Competitiveness, at the Round Table for support for the internationalisation, at the conference of business persons and the Government, and last but not the least a presentation was made for the Government Strategic Council for internationalisation.
