Construction and Building Materials Association

Construction and Building Materials Association is a professional industry association organised within the framework of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS). Its main mission, in the best interest of the Association's voluntary membership, is to take positions and propose policies relating to the social partners, legislative and Government institutions as well as towards their domestic and international associations. It participates in the drafting of the new EU legislation and aligning Slovene legislation to that of the EU. The Association assists its members by disseminating information, providing consultations, organising training as well as by representing and communicating their proposals. Its tasks are performed within the system of statutory authorisations vested in the Chamber in accordance with the relevant legislation.

 

The construction industry  (accordinng to NACE Rev 2 in F 41, 42 and 43) comprises building, civil and water engineering works, building installations (fitting and installation works) and building completion works. It includes the construction of new buildings, restoration, maintenance and repair.

 

The industry of building materials involves the quarrying of stone materials for construction (gravel and sand), natural stone, limestone, as well as the production of bricks, roofing tiles, parts of chimneys, cement, fibre cement products, lime (baked, slaked and hydraulic lime), concrete mixtures and concrete products (structural components of pre-stressed concrete, other concrete products) and machined natural stone.

 

In compliance with the CCIS Act and the Standard Classification of Activities (SCA), voluntary members of the Construction and Building Materials Association are companies predominantly engaged in activities (NACE Rev. 1) of industrial production CB 14.1-2 and DI 26.4-7, as well as F 45 (entirely) or according to NACE REV 2 of 08.11, 08.12, 23.32, 23,5, 23,6, 23,7 and F 41, 42 and 43,

 

Construction and Building Materials Association is a member of FIEC (European Construction Industry Federation) and a member of CEPMC (Council of European Producers of Materials for Construction).
