The Slovenian chemical industry, which generated an income of 4,2 billion Eur in 2006, represents 19 % of the total income of all manufacturing industries.

 

The share of chemical industrys value added reached 22 % of value added realised in all manufacturing industries. The number of employees in the chemical industry was 26.686, accounting for 13 % of all workers employed in manufacturing industries.

 

The exports of chemical companies in 2006, which amounted to 3,106 billion Eur, accounted for 19.8 % of Slovenia´s total exports.Value of total exports of chemical products (disregarded the activity of exporter) in 2006 is 3,163 billion Eur and represents 19 % of total Slovenian exports

In 2005 21 %, or EUR 1.25 billion, of foreign investment in Slovenia went into the chemical and rubber industry, of which EUR 942 million went into the manufacture of chemicals, chemical products, and man-made fibres, while the remaining EUR 307 million went into the manufacture of rubber and plastic products.
