Advanced process technologies are of crucial importance for giving manufacturing industries an edge over competitors in all segments of manufacturing, since competitiveness is a mixture of higher productivity as well as innovation and environment-friendly manufacturing.
Process technologies are of paramount importance for industrial implementation of application development modules associated with the problems of sustainable development and sustainable technologies, protection of the environment, safety and security and prevention of losses, energy generation, food processing and water treatment.
The manufacturing industries together with chemical and process industries are one of foundation pillars of Slovenia’s economy. The share of the manufacturing industries in all companies was 34.6% of net revenues in 2005 and 40.7% of value-added and 71.3% of exports.
